Day 64 - Wilderness

Cass shook her head. "I'd stay away from there if I were you, nothing but bad news."

"What's so bad about heading Northwest?" Trinity retorted. Jared turned his head and shrugged his shoulders as if he were about to ask the same thing.

"We heard that the safest place to go wa-" Isaac elbowed her in the ribs. "Nothing, northwest is a perfectly fine place to go," Isaac s cut in, while Cass mouthed an 'Ow' and rubbed her side.

Jared lifted his hatchet up and slid it back into the holster on his pack. "Nothing is ever safe anymore."

"I don't like your attitude." Dylan said to Isaac, stepping forward.

Carolina raised an eyebrow at the strange group, something was off.

Jordyne held her shotgun up again. "No need to throw insults around now. We don't want to start anything."

Isaac shrugged. "That's your problem."
Cass ignored the two boys. "So what's your guys' names?"

" I'm Carolina." She said, in a 'not too cheerful' tone.

"Dylan, and the quiet guy back there is Mark." Dylan said, not looking away from Isaac as he spoke.

Jordyne walked over to Dylan and Isaac. "Jordyne." She called over before speaking with the two of them.

Trinity tilted her head and started. "Trinity." She simply said. Jared walked up and held his hand out for a hand shake. "Jared Gray, How about you three?"

"I'm Amber," Amber piped up and waved at them. "I'm Cass, and that's Isaac," Cass continued.

Jared nodded. "Well, we'll let you off on your way, and we'll head off on ours. Sorry for the trouble." Jared walked past Cass and started heading the way that lead to the Northwest.

Dylan gave Isaac a go fuck yourself kind of look and then followed after Jared, Carolina and mark followed.

Isaac just blinked. Amber called after them, by now she'd recognized Jared as a coordinate (it's not exactly unreasonable since he have his name and has a scar.) "Wait! We should stick together, safety in numbers and everything!"

"You're welcome to follow, My group just isn't heading back the way we came." Jared called back without turning around, the other original 5 in his group walked behind him and occasionally stared back at the three.

Amber followed after them without waiting for Cass and Isaac. It was pretty clear Amber wasn't going anywhere without this new group of kids. So Isaac and Cass followed after with little complaint.

Jared turned his head as he walked, he adjusted his pack and tightened his gloves. "Change of heart for the Northwest?" He asked Isaac as he walked, giving a slight smile to annoy him.

"She's right, safety in numbers," Isaac responded. "Plus it's nice to see other kids," Cass told them.

Dylan shrugged his shoulders as they began to walk.

Mark followed, keeping pace with Jordyne. "How do you feel about them?" He asked in a hushed tone.

Carolina followed behind Dylan and Jared.

Jordyne tilted her head. "As long as they're friendly, I don't mind if people tag along for a while."

Jared kept walking until he started talking to Dylan, he was quiet enough so Cass, Isaac, and Amber wouldn't hear. "Don't you find it odd how they decided to come with us?"

"Mhm. That Amber girl was quick as hell to tag along. I noticed her staring at your scar before she decided to come." Dylan said as he walked. "It's probably nothing though."

"It doesn't look like they like us too much," Isaac muttered to Cass. "As long as they don't try to kill us," Cass replied.

Jared shrugged. "Eh, I don't mind 'em. They seem like nice people to me. I'm not sure how the others felt." He turned his head and noticed Mark talking to Jordyne, Trinity and Carolina walked close behind Jared and Dylan, they were both silent,

"We'll find out soon enough." Dylan said after a moment pause.

Carolina turned to Trinity. "I feel something off with all of this." She whispered as they walked.

Trinity gave a slight nod. "That Cass girl seemed quite odd to me. As did that Amber woman."

"So where do we plan on stopping for the night?" Cass calls up to the others.
